Apple iPhone 4's Big Challenge
July 14, 2010 [by Larry Chao]

It's been reported by Consumer Reports and numerous individuals that the iPhone 4, when held a certain way, has bad reception.  A poorly designed mobile phone antennae appears to be at fault.

Apple's response so far has been to deny that there is any design flaw.  It has shifted the blame to the user.

It might be that those complaining represent only a small, but vocal segment of iPhone 4 users, and that therefore, Apple is basically "brushing them off."  But still, there must be more that Apple can do.  A brand is only as good as its reputation and being more responsive is the name of the game.

This is a hard lesson companies like General Motors and Nokia have learned.

I'm sure Apple iPhone 4 will still be a best seller, but I'll hold off on even thinking about buying an iPhone until they figure out how to fix this problem.
